Emptying the Fuel Tank
Hi guys.
I need to empty the tank on the car as fuel has been in there since 2008. There is barely any in there, fuel rail feed is disconnected, so thought about shorting the pins on the Fuel relay...can anyone help me as to its location and number. Its a 1996 St Escort.
I tried siphoning, but there is an mesh halfway down the filler neck, so Im stuck as to what to do now, anyone done this before.
Many thanks

Hi, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the car is off the road and will remain so -the fresh fuel is just to get it restarted and hopefully run her every few weeks, a new tank full would just put me in the same situation as time goes by as it will never get used.

hi pal its relay 9 brown one, or you could split the wire connector at rear of car, if you look up between rear bumper and the back panel you can see the pump and sender wires, its the two thicker ones you need, disconnect the plug and put a live and earth to them and the pump will run, black/red needs to be live cheers
