Default Gearbox noise proper getting me cheesed off
Hi guys had my escort gearbox put in the car after the restoration and it was supposed to be a good box its turned out another nightmare just like everything else i bought off the same guy on here...

But i had the gearbox sent to TVT in Newcastle whom stripped and rebuilt the box due to a constant type bearing noise its been done and new bearings fitted also they fitted the following bits..

1. New lay shaft
2, drop gear

Ive refitted the gearbox all new oils etc etc after a £475 rebuild and its exactly the same noise on it...

Ive sent both prop shafts into be checked and they are perfect no problems at all there the noise is right under the gear lever area and is there constantly even free wheeling at speed...

all mounts are new etc etc...

I took mine to Terry at GRS in Newburn, he's the daddy for MT75 boxes.......maybe worth a try?

Even just a chat. He only took £100 off me to strip it all, degrease it, check it, fit a bearing and all seals and given the all clear

transfer chains can make a noise like a bearing

there are 5 seals on a cossy box must cost £40?
fit a bearing £30?
and the labour must be 4 hours

Works now mate

Ive had car on a 2 poster ramp today with gearbox man underneath its the transfer box making the noise

So yet another scrap part of the guy i bought my bits off....on here

Its getting a transfer box chain and bearings in when the guys gets back 2/3 weeks time

bloody holiday season...
