ESCORT T25 ECU 'COSY' Problem
Can anyone help, Ive currently got a friends Esc Cos small turbo and it has a PTS piggy back chip plugged onto the EEC iv ecu but at 1.2 -1.3 bar of boost which it what it was set on it runs way too lean ( AFR 15:1 on boost past 4k rpm. I put a softer actuator on and set up about 0.8 bar of boost but it was still a bit lean. It has an uprated pump so fuel pressure is ok but its a bit strange, ive cleaned all the contacts up on the plug but no better.
With the help of a local tuning firm who does a lot of OE remapping and has mapped these eec iv's years ago we are trying to load the modified file he has to the chip but are struggling.
Has anyone got any modified piggy back chips or normal modified chips / ecu or any ideas?
Many Thanks in advance
Colin

All above my head i,m afraid but it sounds like you need to be in contact with either the guys who did the work or better still skip that and ask MSD . http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/stus.html
You should fill your boots here , scroll down to ST Escos common faults.

It's a shame this ecu can't be as versatile as the l8, I've heard these can only be mapped upto 300bhp and that's your lot, is there anything after market that will plug straight onto the loom for some serious power???

Interesting so you have cracked the COSY eeciv???
I'm sure if you crack her wide open there will be much interest as most just convert to l8 or p8 for more power.

so what if you get a customer who wants it??? How long would you need the car for and the obvious question would be would the price reflect on development on their car, ie whose going to pay for the extensive time sorting the niggly final touches, obviously there's going to be a price difference between you mapping a EECIV as to an L8??

So if it didn't work the customer would lay nothing??
Jesus no wonder everyone shy's away from doing them
I admire your enthusiasm stu, no doubt you'd have it fully cracked if you had the car for as long as you needed.
should be an intersting read should that day come
