Default WRC Wings, first attempt at panel beating!

Well I really want wrc front wings on my escort cossie build so as well as stretching the rear arches by an inch at some point in the future I thought sod it I'd have a go, I picked up a wrc wing on eBay for £20 +p&p and decided to make the other side myself.

Bear in mind I've never done any panel beating before in my life, or read anything about it lol but started with something like this at 12 o'clock

and by the time I'm posting this, so about six hours later it now looks like this.

Gonna do the other side next weekend, but appreciate any comment, personally I'm pretty chuffed with it.

good work, im pretty sure though after doing that you then have to slice the wing open near the indicator and weld a triangular fillet piece in to get the edge where it meets the door straight again

Yes your bang on you have to do two cuts ideally as shown in the hasfengen build thread, you also have to cut it under the front indicator as that piece is nearly 2 inches wider at the bottom of the arch.

Used templates off of the wing I bought so just need to flip it over to do the other side, lol sounds so easy, but was really happy with the results, it needs a tiny bit more work but its pretty smooth and uniform, as said never done anything like it so happy with it.

you saw that Anyway not decided after looking at cossiedevils thread again that I'm gonna leave doing the other one and cutting the sides to stretch them till I have the sideskirts and bumper to make sure it all lines up as it should, reckon I could do the second in 3-4 hours now I've done one, quite enjoyed it apart from the noise and an aching shoulder today

Looks great, thats awesome work and its good to see someone give it a go without giving in half way - you've more patience then I would have!

I did wonder if the wing would've been better bolted to the car whilst you were hammering on it though? Has it held its shape where it bolts to the car?

No it would be impossible bolted to the car, your turning it this way and that every five seconds, and no they don't hold there shape at all lol, needs serious modifications as seen in cossiedevil's thread but I'll address that when the time comes, glad you all like them had some really positive comments cheers.
