Strange marks on my cam cover
I Only recently noticed these marks on my cam cover but looking back at old photo's they have been on the car since I bought it
Its not a new thing and they dont leak. Ive known the car since 1992 so I know its nothing sinister. Just wondering if its something other people have seen. They are on both side of where the spark plugs are.
Only thing I can think of is that the car was bought in 1992 with a bust engine. Split block i think the history says. Car had a new block fitted and was taken back down to stage 1.

Those 4 marks above each plug cap?
Outward dents?
Obviously when it blew up something must have caused the parts underneath to hit the cam cover, must have let go at speed/high rpm to do that though.

i'm pretty sure i know what those marks are.
at some point someone has taken off the cam caps but they've put the bolts back in upside down which makes them protrude too much. When they've screwed down the rocker cover it pressed against the extended cam cap bolts - hence the marks
the reason i know this is because i did the exact same thing!
