Thinking about reshelling an escort cossie and did not know what the difference between a full shell from fords and a motorsport shell was. Is it bad to use a motorsport shell? will it make the final car obviously a reshell or fresh build? I dont understand and was hoping someone could shed a little light on the subject for me and hopefully point me in the right direction to getting a shell.
I dont have one. I was thinking about buying one that needs reshelling and doing all the work to it. I have one to buy it is just the shell. I really want an escort cossie.....I have always wanted one....I currently drive an 04 reg impreza sti....great car but I have had cossies before and want to go back to cossies. I was going to buy a straight one but I like the idea of buying this reshelled one and rebuilding it exactly to the spec that I want. Would be easier to just buy one but I really fancy building it with the exact suspension, colour, trim etc to my liking and all the standard ones are silly money
it mainly cosmetic m8 motorsport escos didnt have lecky windows, mirrors, or opening rear quarter windows dont think they even had central locking and they had non recaro front seats, basically no creature comforts, and no sunroofs all other derivatives had lecky sunroofs or manual. mite pay 2 mail paul at north yorks rs spares he very clued up on escos etc he mite be able 2 source a shell 4 ya.
that is the road I am going to go down now. I was hoping to find one privately and keep it reasonably priced but my next step is going to be going down the route of checking the rs traders.....fingers crossed!!!
