a friend of mine is thinking of buying an escos off ebay its green comes with every thing apart from an engine its on a buy it now for £7000 the car seems in good condition but is this a fair price??

Depends how much an engine is going to set u back, hassle sourcing & fitting a new engine & getting it home in the first place.
Seen High mile cars advertised for £10K ish so could be a good buy if u can sort it at the right price.

he runs a garage with his dad so fitting an engines not a problem, hes also toying with the the idea of converting it to rear wheel drive as we no someone breaking a saf, but i think this will devalue the car?

I wouldnt touch it, more for the fact, its hard enough to sell these cars on when they are straight, true and tidy. Let alone explaining a Q plate to someone lol

I have owned a Q plate car my problem is that they are hard to sell on will always get priced down.
