Original Escort Radio and CD Player
Hello Chaps
I have an original radio and Cd player in my car (The early type that was also fitted in the Sapphires) 2028
And i'm having some trouble with them, I would like to know if anyone out there can recon them?
I assume that Ford would have done the reconditioning, but I guess they stopped a few years ago.
The problems I have are :
Radio - Works fine, but the illumination is very dim, I guess it is a simple bulb replacement.
Cd - Used to work, but after removing it for 6 months, it now wont accept the code? It powers up, the code can be entered but it wont actually start working!
I then bought another CD player off of Ebay, but this also has problems
2nd CD - Powers up, illumination comes on, but nothing is displayed?
Any assistance would be appreciated in fixing these components, if not I would also appreciate any offers of replacement parts that you may have in your lofts/sheds/garages.
I'm really getting fed up with not having a CD player, you can only listen to the exhaust or Radio 2 for so long!
Cheers
Paul

Hello Mate
On the first CD Player, I can enter the code but it just then reverts to the ' - - - ' as if i've entered the code wrong?
But i'm sure the code is right as its written on top of the unit and i've used it before!
