insurance worrys?

insurance worrys?
if i dont declare that the alloys, brakes and suspension have been uprated on my escos and if i was too bend it around a lampost (touch wood) how likly is it that they will pay out. because i heared they would but not replace the parts to uprated spec but replace back to standard spec parts?

you must declare all mods to be legally insured, it is a mug and fool that doesn't..
if the insurance company found out even before a crash then they will cancel your insurance and good luck in finding an insurerer that will then actually take you on as a customer..
they will not pay out at all if they found the car to be modded after a crash..
you have been warned..

id say its a definate must to declare all mods, just to try and save a few pennies now by not mentioning wheels and suspension seems daft to me if you were to have an unfortunate misshap - just so it invalidates your insure, you will be kicking yourself for not doing it properly in the first place.
ive spent alot of today finalising my insurance with my insurance man, 4 phone calls as everything got refered direct to the underwritters.
with every single mod declared (and i do mean everything) no mileage restrictions and an agree'd value of £22,500 but downside of an excess of £500 (which im more than happy to handle with what the spec of that car is), protected full no claims and the right to drive any other vehicle aswell - mine came out for renewal at £850

There is a lot of misinformation here put out by insurers.
If you replace your brake pads with EBC REDSTUFF for example then it is NOT in law considered a mod.
Ask yourself honestly have you ever fitted bits that are not from ford ?, oil filter, air filter, tyres, wipers, valve caps, floor mats, screenwash fluid, antifreeze, christ where do I stop ?
Can anyone physically run a car with no mods ?, NO NO NO is the answer, as ANYTHING that deviates from ford will be a mod, the REASON you can't ?, because a lot of the bits are not available from ford anymore.
I had this very question with some pillock when I said show me a ford sierra cossie with a std exhaust for example, he thought he proved a point by saying he knew of TWO, maybe I am missing the point as I thought there were loads more than two sierra cossie made!!
Speak to the underwriter if in doubt, I was going to be loaded by PRIVILEGE for a cat2/1 alarm/immobiliser on my other halfs car as it was considered modified, till the(privilege) underwriter told them to F**K off, this is an extreme case but happens.
They have a right to withold payment to insured if the mods were contributary factors in any accident, but if not declared will only replace std parts.
THEY CANNOT WITHOLD PAYMENT TO A THIRD PARTY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, owing to the "LAST MAN STANDING RULE"

Does that apply in my case though? I bought a van, insured it as standard, but when i picked it up it had a set of 17's on. 6 days later someone pulled out in front of me and bang!!!!
Now they dont wanna pay out cause of the wheels but they were not a contributing factor towards the accident.

Just get a ambulance chaser/solicitor on it.
LITIGATION is so expensive, it is cheaper for them to pay out so they do, as they have to justify everything to shareholders.
A solicitor on no win no fee will take it on no probs, or AA RAC solicitor.
