Cool Followers

My car, since i bought it 5 week ago sounds like a cvh and am thinkin of changing the followers, ive allready changed oil for 15/50 fully synthetic as i didnt know what oil was in it and neither did the the nugget i got it from. Can anyone recomend the best place to get em from.

i have seen proper ina sets on ebay for about £70 which i think is cheap.

15W50 oil is too thick aswell, compound it with the cold weather we are having and you'll hve rattly cam followers....

get some decent 10W40 in there - silkolene proS or similar and you'll notice a difference.

are the followers the same as lifters, or are they just called different names.

Ive heard a few storys about people putting cheap ones in and they have had to change them in about 6 months cause they had been rattling again. They seem to take ages to quieten down when the new ones have been fitted too.

As Dave said 15W50 is to thick from cold. Ford recommend 5w50 but that is like water. 10W40 or 50 for summer would be better.
