Any regrets
I was looking into buying an escort cosworth a few months back and budgeted on 15-16k
i ended up looking at a few and was disappointed, i then turned to the dark side and bought a w plate evo 6 with 400bhp and 40k on the clock
sold that and moved onto 03 4.6is x5 although i love the comfort i keep finding myself browsing for a escort cosworth
my budget being a bit higher now i can have a decent one
but will i regret buying one and going to an older car and how do you lot garage it and not get tempted to drive them all the time

I bought mine for a shade under 15k - yes it is alot of money to be sat half the year.
Yes I do love driving it - and if I could I would drive it all the time.
I've done about 9000 miles in the 3 years of ownership, and have done alot of work on it to try and keep it as mint as possible in that time.
I think most Es Cos owners have a second run about car - as do I.
Luckily (If you can say that) my second car is a 106 Rallye, which does everything i need in a car - The Escort is just my prode and joy, to take out on weekends - thrash it down B-roads and have good times on tracks and down the quarter mile.
You'll not regret buying one - unless you get a Pup

I would have a second car, and would make sure as much as possible i buy a mint one,
my old neighbour had a mint petrol blue one that rarely used to come out the garage but always made me look stop and stare when it did
hardly any other car has that effect

my only regret is how much i keep spending on the car - it just runs away with you and if you become anything like me youll find yourself justifying to yourself that its just another 1k here or another Ł500 there.
but for the amount my car adores my cash card, i can honestly say that i do love it to bits

i think its because i base it on my mates petrol blue one that is mint
i saw a red one which had a fair bit of rust on it, and a few little marks on all panels
a white one which sounded really rough when it was started, which was also rough round the edges
an auralis one which was clean but then the electrics/fuse box blew on it the day i viewed it
at that point i give up and went to see an evo which was in all fairness mint and a good spec so bought that,
but i think its more the character of the cossie im after

if you just want to keep it in the garage and worry about putting miles on it/ getting it dirty, then don't bother as it will just consume you..... Buy one that is clean and useable, and actually drive the thing and enjoy it for the car it is. .

I know but i would rather really wait till one really jumps out in a colour i want
otherwise if i buy a mint one in a colour i settled for because of its condition then at shows i would be dissappointed when i saw a mint one in the colour i wanted
if that makes sense
