126 ;MAP sensor out of range
214 ;Error in CID cicuit or signal. CMP sensor out of range
452 ;Vehicle speed sensor problem

Cannot help on the other two though.

When you say timing do you mean cam timing or ignition timing?

214 - what is the CMP sensor?
452 - Vehicle speed sensor, where it fitted? I dont remember about it in my sierra...
I mean how to install the timing belt? In my cossie with distributor I know this, but here there is no distributor... What is the differences?
Thanks!

CMP is the Cam Position Sensor, this is the sensor that is fitted where the distributor goes on non eec-iv Cosworths.

The VSS is fitted to the gearbox.

From memory, the timing belt install is as per the other Cosworths except I think the crank pulley has it's mark at 12 o'clock and the CMP sensor has it's own mark.

EDIT: Amended last sentence.

VSS where does it fitted to the gearbox? We cant find it, any wires(only rear gear wires) connected to gearbox.
Do you have Wiring diagram for this engine?
Thanks!

Sorry, I do not have a wiring diagram (I started drawing one up a long time ago but never got around to finishing it).

I think the speedometer cable passes through the VSS sensor, look for a BRN/WHT wire.

Thank you for reply! But I have a lot questions.
The belt setting at escort of my mate is wrong.
But I dont understand how to set it wright.
At my cos there are 4 teeth on the V belt pulley. The mark at block at 11 o'clock and I need to set one of the tooth at that mark. I think escos has the same mark at block at 11 o'clock, but I dont know what tooth at belt pulley I needed, how does it marked?
Next question about CMP. I have see the mark at the top of CMP - it marked at little glass but I dont know how I need to put it. Can you help me?

The bottom pulley has the mark on it and I think it is closer to 12 o'clock (but this is from memory and it has been a while since I last saw one). I am assuming you have taken the 36-1 pulley off to fit the cam belt?

The CMP sensor positioning is trickier to see, I will have to see if I have a photo that is good enough to help.

If you look at the sighting 'glass' of the CMP sensor there are 3 marks; a short line, a long line (almost the full height of the glass) and a arrow pointing clockwise. You will also see a vane through the glass when you rotate the sensor's drive gear. You need to rotate the vane clockwise so that the back edge of it lines up with the long mark.

Yes, you need to remove the 36-1 pulley to see the mark on the crankshaft pulley. Looking at the diagram above it appears that the mark is closer than 11 o'clock than what I said previously (my memory is failing ).

we have removed the 36-1 pulley, but can't find mark on the crankshaft pulley ((
Are you sure that it must be? Where I can find it on crankshaft pulley?
But block has the mark at 11o'clock, and 36-1 pulley has the mark too...
Any advice please
Thanks!

Hmm, have you checked the rear of the crank pulley in case some one has put it on backwards before? If there is no mark then you will be OK to use the 36-1 pulley I expect. (sorry for the vagueness but it has been a while since I did this!)

So, when we set mark at crankshaft pulley at 12 o'clock it mean that first piston is at TDC position or thi is? Because as I see through spark plug hole to the first cylinder i think that it is not at TDC position when we set mark at crankshaft pulley at 12 o'clock. As i see it is at the TDC position when the mark at 11 o'clock... We set it to 11o'clock and start the engine but it work not very good now 8)
