Default Mappable ECU's-which one!?

As title.

Engine rebuild is finished and I'm running it in on the original Stage 3 Superchip (which makes it run like a dogs dinner!!!) and a set of Dark Greens.

It will be running a T4 roller bearing turbo and 1000cc injectors at some point and needs a mappable ECU, I'm thinking an Autronic SM4 at the moment. Any advise otherwise!!????

Cheers,

LOL

He is a fookin legend!

Didn't mention a model, but looking at it, I think either an SM 2 or an SM 4 should sort me out.

What are you running Euan?

By the way, I'm seeing more of your car now than you are!! LOL

Here's a reminder!!

Still looks the dogs!!

Sorry for the shit phone pic!!

Would say go with what Alan thinks if he is going to map it. I know he likes the Autronic stuff and is good at mapping it. He is also trying the Colins ecu out on my car and from what he has said thinks its a good bit of kit and is plug and play.

Bonus is if you go for Autronic he will have a good frew maps to work from as it sounds like you will be similar spec to Euan.

I'm using ADAPTRONIC

Can handle the std triggering and sensors, and a very good self learning mode.
Also a lot of features.

Cheers for the help!!

I think I'll stick with the Autronic (just toss a coin for SM2 or SM4!!) as Alan mentioned it first, and as you say Neil, he'll be mapping it and has some good info to work from!!

The SM2 is a older unit the SM4 is the latest unit and has many more functions.

Is the RP Labs one good, Not heard of it before now?

What sort of price are they, somewhat cheaper than an Autronic I presume!!?

He's already made up his mind and his tuner wants him to get Autronic .

The RP labs one only works out as a competitive package if you already have an L8 ECU, whereas the Escort is P8, so he would have to buy an L8 and then have that converted.

It still then doesn't have the number of mapping points (or all the features) as the Autronic, which runs a 36-1 pulley like T6 etc.

I just didn't see the RP labs one as being applicable in this instance (just like despite being a T6 man, I didn't think this was applicable in this instance either ).

His tuner is familiar with Autronic, his tuner has maps for Autronic, his tuner suggested Autronic, so given that, I think that Autronic is the way to go in this instance . Despite what some think, I try to be as objective as possibe...

Mapping at AVA is cheaper than most places as Alan only charges per hour on the rollers.

Mark was 350 to map mine on the road.

I would say get Mark/Rod to fit it as they have done loads so will be alot quicker then stick a base map in to get you up the road then get Alan to map it as its his engine.

Alan can map anything he is given but in all honesty mate your better going with something he has a good bit of experience with.

It means he can utilise all the special features of said ECU and reall y get the best out of the engine.

Mine was the first Autronic he has mapped and he is still finding new things on it everytime he explores the menus

As Euan says easyer to go with something the mapper knows , i know he was just getting to grips with the colins ecu as he never got much help from colins untill he got a good contact there
