just had engine re-built, got a bottom end gasket set been told not to use cork gasket use sealant any help will be great

I'm sure that is what its meant to have from the factory. My ST has what looks like a sealant gasket. :?

not sure as road n rally in blackpool have done the engine work, the engineer told me not too use the cork one. thanks

What I ment to say is think it should be sealant not cork. :D

i've only ever used sealant (good quality like locktite).

don't expect it not to leak though, i've never seen a used 4x4 that doesn't dribble a bit somewhere around the sump.

4x4's don't have sump gaskets. ;)

they all use sealent. :top:

I use a cometic 2wd sump gasket on them,they are made of a very tough card and you will only need a very tiny bit of sealer around where it meets the half moons.... :top:
