Rusty Escos front wings :(
Both of my front wings are now starting to rust quite badly around the lights and along the lip on the wheel arch. Rather than remove the rust on the arch for what would be the third time I wonder if it would be better just to replace them both.
Anyone know if theyre still avaliable from Ford?
If so would you know the price and product code?
I know its a lot to ask but my local Ford parts garage are useless!
Cheers

The rust on the arch has been repaired twice already, person I took it to said the only way to get rid of it would be to cut it out. The rust around the light has just started to bubble up but its getting worse by the month.
What I was thinking of doing was getting a full respay but its no point spending a couple of grand on that if 6 months later the rust just comes back
I read somewhere that they were £300 each from Ford, not really a problem if you can still get them!
Ebay might be the way

mine have a bit of rust starting where they meet the skirt extension where some twat hasn't repaired some stone chip damage properly.
as said it needs cutting out to get rid properly.

Fast Ford
Hi fella, not sure which mag but it was either Fast Ford or Performance Ford.
A company are doing acid dipping and the re zincing the pannel, they did a mk 1 escort as a demo to sow how good it was, they state any rust is killed and will not come back doing it this way. the feature was within the last 3 months, so maybe contact them and find out.
Hope this gives you a bit of help.

From what the article said, it does not matter about cutting the rust out, as the pannel is dipped in acid and this eats the affected area clean away.
They then ethch primer the pannel to prevent surface rust appearing, its like what they do at the factory from new, same process.
When i saw the shell they used and the difference after they had done the dip and etch primer, I thought way to go and their certain that the rust will not come back.
Try and obtain the magazine with the feature as I think it will be of some help to you.
Regards
