whats needed to convert to 2wd

hi im thinking of converting my escos to rear wheel drive as i prefer it and want to know whats needed i can think of the obvious like

Complete 2wd rear beam and diff with shafts and hubs(you can use your Escos brakes)

2wd T5 gearbox

2wd prop with the rear part shortened by 60mm and re-balanced

2wd front struts,hubs,crossmember,rack,brakes etc

2wd sump and pickup

Gearbox mount to fit the T5 into the 4x4 shell(there is a ford one available,i will dig out the finis code for you tomorrow)

Thats about all i can think of at the moment, some people have left all the 4x4 front running gear on and just removed the driveshafts, leaving the outer CV`s in the hub,but i prefer to do the job with all 2wd running gear...... :top:

cheap and chearfull way it to lose the front prop, leave the rest of the running gear in the front end, bolt in a 2wd MT75 box from any twinky sierra and then all you are left with is the prop to sort :top:

if it's a thing you want to do in a hurry to get it 2wd and then source the rest of the front suspension etc then thats the way to do it :top:

hello mate just finished converting mine to rwd and its the best thing ever now not only with the looks the escos has but the rear wheel action also puts a smile on my face if your gonna use a complete 2wd setup then give dan @rapidford a call hes got a rwd escos and was a great help to me both at sourcing parts and advice i know he can get the gearbox craddle you will need, the parts i changed over from back of car to front was
complete shafts, rear beam,diff,2wd prop shortend by 60mm,gearbox craddle,2wd gearbox mount,t5 box, speedo cable and clutch cable,2wd sump,2wd modine and bolt+oil filter,2wd crossmemberand steeringrack with coupling, engine mounts and arms,i also did away with the old v belt system and mounted the alternator on pass side and power steering pump on drivers with all pipes and cooler pipe, with 2wd crank pulley,2wd coilovers ,hubs and brakes including callipers.
hope this helps :top:
