Default Defi Gauge Owners?

Hi Everyone

Brought a load of Defi gauges from Mickey Rianbum and cant get them to light up

The first gauge I put in was the Boost gauge its all working fine sweet as a nut when you start the car it all lights up the Gauge and the controller then it goes all through the start sequence then is just working as it should "all by lighting up"

I assumed that when i switched the cars lights on the defis would light up as well, the illumination wire goes to the light stalk and i have tested it on an old Gauge and when you switch the lights on and off so does the old gauge

DO they have to be switched on, or Can the be switched on via the controller unit?

As i said they do all light up including the controller unit but only while they do the start up procedure

HELP

perhaps the "light on" wire is not connected properly, as the gauges seem to work...

Anyway look i have the live (Defi wire red) to the red live on the back of the ignition barrel then the (Defi wire Orange) live to the yellow ignition wire

I'm guessing the old guage was a mechanical so the light bulb that illuminated it came on with the lights

The Defi will need a switched live which is different to the headlights as the defi should always be illuminated IIRC

Have you got a multimeter?

Hang on I don't think I'm reading your question right

Do the defi's have an switched illumination or should they be on all the time the ignition is?

Im confused

when i start the car up the defi light up do there little start up thingy and then the lights go out, thats why i wasnt sure if the gauge light has to be switched on by the controler unit?

USE THE STEREO LOOM! as obviously you've done something wrong somewhere........ easier to just relocate!

And no the Defi's ONLY light up on start up as part of the demo, if wired properly they should only illuminate when sidelights etc are on!

Wanko.................. Never heard that before! Tard!
