depends on what you did before

normally you say:

the caliper that is farthest away of your brake fluid reservoir at first, then the other side of the back.

after that the front side which is farther away from the brake fluid reservoir and then the last caliper which is on the brake fluids reservoir.

no ignition needed for that.

We did it that way several times and it worked out perfect.

hope you understand what i wanted to tell you

for a german escort cosworth, the brake fluid reservoir is on the drivers (left) side this would mean:

1. rear right
2. rear left
3. front right
4. front left

As Sim has said, start at the furthest caliper away from the brake resevoir and work your way forward.

have heard people mention that you leave the ignition on the first click.

the rear brakes work when you have the ignition on and press the pedal to open the valve and let the pump pressureise the rear cuirit
if you've got your foot on the pedal you open the belld nipple and the fluid comes out in a contant stream so none of this pumping the pedal malarky
you can fill and drain most of the fluid in teh system just by doing this which elaves a lot less for you do to on the fronts (the rear lines anr shared and split just near the rear axle so do both erars and then do the front with the normla pressing of the pedal stuff)

others have said ther are other ways to do it but this is the way i've been doing it for the past 14 years and never had a problem

just make sure you dno't get an air lock in the abs valve block, as these are a right pain in the arse to get rid of
