I was just wondering what everybody has for build dates on their cossies. From what I've been told, they started making cossies in aug 92. There's an importing rule for cars to come into Canada that states the car must be older than 15yrs TO THE MONTH. I want to import one before the winter hits here in october, but I haven't found any cossies with a build date earlier than au 92. Is there anyone out there with an earlier one?

the earliest is a 1990 (rally car)that was the first one
ford unveiled it at the rsoc essex day at boreham the home of
ford motorsport and the birth place of the escort cosworth
it is a H reg.
there are early ones about but they are really rare
and were usually owned by ford
cossie girl on here had a 91 lhd with some unusual id marks

the uk ones i have seen on a j plate aug 91 to july 92 were
iirc registrations ending bpu,which is a essex no plate which
may lead it to being a ford owned car,press or test etc.
i have a rsoc magazine with a h reg 90-91 red escort cosworth
road car,its a ford owned car.
i remember sue collins getting a escort cosworth shell for her
evolution race car,that shell was unavailable at the time as i knew
of people who wanted them to build sierras into them.
i don't see many lhd 91's or early92's.
i have info from karmann regards when the rhd's started production

Ford had to build 2500 to satisfy HOMOLOGATION.
For the rally programme which started 1st of jan 1993.
WILLHELM KARMANN AG built the cars for FORD from
the RHEINE factory
GERMAN left hand drive models started production april 27th 1992
UK right hand drive models started production at the start of june 1992
Imo the first 2500 are a piece of FORD MOTORSPORT history
