Default escort cosworth wheel

what is the 'J' size of an escort cosworth rim and what is the smallest tyre size it can fit on?

Escort Cosworth wheel is 8x16" et25. Standard tyre size is 225/45-16. What you can squeeze on is a good question, depends on what youre using them on really... 215/40-16 or 205/45-16 maybe?

i'd ask why would you want to fit a as narrow tyre as possible anyway...?

are your fronts rubbing on your front shockers by any chance....?

if so, you need to mod the spring platform on the shocker, later sets of konis etc alrady have the outer edge of the platform bent up to allow the fitment of bigger wheels without them rubbing...

8J is std which = 225 wide.

i'd go wider to 235 rather than less to 215 or 205, it will look wrong IMO, the rim will be wider than the tyre and be prime candidate for getting kurbed - and look like a replica

I've got 205/50-16 winter tyres on my standard rims, no problem. Will be using 205/55-16 when I get new tyres.

what offset are your wheels, the std offset should be no where near rubbing the arches even with 235, nevermind 225, the std offset it ET25 btw.. have you got some ET-10 or similar - ie really wide track..?

post a pic up of the wheels you have on...

ah yes, the arches on a saph are designed to accomodate ET34 wheels that are only 205 wide, so the escos ones will sit 9mm further out plus an extra 20mm for the tyre, IIRC you cant get away with it without having the arches lips rolled up, or fit the non escos , escos style wheels
