You get what you pay for IMO
I had front end, both sides and rear bumper to concours stds.( although not on a cos, but similar in size etc etc ) Paid £3400 for the job which was better than factory.
With working in the paint trade i had the best products on the car , but you can get a decent job for half this price.
Just be carefull who does it as cheaper could turn out to be dearer if they make a hash and cost you for re-work or devalue your pride and joy!

Spraying the car itself is a morning job, its the preparation (labour)/ materials that you pay for.
Suppose it takes 3/4 - 1 day to strip all the parts off and another 3/4 - 1 day to put them all back on, at £45 hr labour that an additional £540 - £720 on your bill. Alot of people would try to minimise this cost by stripping the parts off themselves (plus you know that they have been fitted correctly then too !)
As for the rear spoiler bubbling, it will re-appear after a few months !!!

As above, pay top dollar get a top job (usually)
the lower priced quick blow overs will devalue the car, you will see masking marks, overspray etc etc at first glance without even looking closely..

As already said you do get wot you pay for, shop around, but cheap in this line of work most often means crap job. But 1,500-2,000. is not all that cheap either.

If your not going to a bodyshop thats been recommended by someone you know personally, then you must ask to see some examples of their work. Go down for the quote when theres a decent car half done, then ask to go down and see it when its finished. A decent bodyshop would be proud and more than happy to let you see a finished job.
At the end of the day though, a spray jobs only as good as the painter/prepper.

just thought on, some body shops have spray booths, others have
ovens, i have seen repaints that have wet flatting to get
dust contamination out, look nice but not as good straight out of the
gun and baked in a oven, i also have seen myself paintwork done
in a workshop with just the floor wetted, basically if your bodyshop
spent nearly 100 grand on a booth/oven etc,you should get a proper
job,and if your man does a bit here and there in a normal workshop you could get it for cheep money

A spray booth is normally an oven!
some places still wet flat, but most dry sand now 99% of jobs get flatted then buffed , even if it had 100k spent on the shop!
The cleaner the shop, then obviously the less shite in the job, but you cant get away from the odd bit of shite!
You get what you pay for tho

some of the bodyshops i have been in have booths with no oven
and i know one garage that do LEXUS's work, booth and oven
and water in the floor iirc
and they get painted and sent out in most cases, no flatting.
but the owner spent big money, supposed to be the
dog's conkers

i had my car fully repainted inc engine bay, i had to strip it myself and as i work for a dealer i got them to paint it, so got a good deal. i had to complain several times to make sure it was 100 % though.
they hate it when i go back for little bits now lol ...
the paint job is only as good as the paint / painter so make sure you see some of there work first.... .
