Default Insurance

hi guys

I've been looking into insurance for a small turbo escort (in standard trim) and it's on the high side i'm 25, 6 years no claims , 3 points sp30 , to be kept on a drive which has a locked gate , cat 1 and a tracker doing about 12-15k a years, car is about £13000 in value .

quotes so far

autotrader insurance £1856
admiral £ 1534 (best so far)
aa £ 3700

I've not tried the performance insurance companies yet which should lower it some what . Do you guys think 1200 would be unrealistic

Don't use Tesco or Directline. They might be cheap, but they are c**ts when trying to make a claim.
Try a local broker. You never know.
Also most of the cheapo's don't do agreed value, and do you know what is the book price of a Cossy these days?
£8-9000 I guess.

try and get really low mileage per annum if you can, you said earlier that you would do 12-15k per year....will you really???? if not get it lower it will make a big difference to the quote. i have 4k maximum per year on mine,it all depends whether you will use it everyday or as a 2nd car.

think postcodes!!!! or are you all living in the same house-lol,no one has mentioned agreed yearly milage!! it works just ask your broker. some even ask for four sided photos to show no mods!!!! (after market wheels etc),
insurance assessors are on the ball these days you.ll loose your claim with uprated bulbs fitted if you dont declair them!!!!!.just remember your not insured if you dont declair- there not not in the game to pay out!!.so onwards.-cental notts/45 years old!! small turbo modded /3 points speeding (off this march) £450 fully comp max no claims (and i mean donkeys years!!)-agreed milage/garaged inc tracker /cat 1(might need to see installer certificate for you).

I work in Insurance and havent heard many good things said about them-sorry , maybe these are isolated cases but to be honest it tends to be the cheaper the premium the worse the cover.
I hope they prove me wrong if the worst was to happen though mate
