hi whatd be the best spec to go for on a planned 500-550hp engine?and whatd a realistic price be for a reputable tuner to do from scratch?ie source block etc?

But to give you a clue, 10k for the engine and then you obviously NEED a decent gearbox and diffs

I had my small turbo escos rebuilt and converted to large turbo by Harvey and all in with a bit extra work it came in at £9400. My engine is built for more BHP than it is running thus keeping it safe and reliable but realistically £10k is ball park for 500 BHP, then about another £6k for a box and front/ rear diff.

like most folks are saying...10k for the bare engine and ALOT on other things...

its not just box and diffs though youll need additionally, things like brakes, bushes, and driveshafts etc, all need taking into account.

Or sell the escos and put the funds with your £20k and buy a CSL not 500 ponies but awesome for the power they do have!! Then SC it and have 500 ponies, lol
