Anyone got any pics of an escort cossie running a GT30 or GT35 with an external wastegate.

just want to see what space there is to play with in the engine bay.

cheers

Not a GT but with external gate and it's also LHD so it could be little different for you. There is space but not much and my turbo is small compared to ones some other people use :)

pics from my escort, working since more than 1 year on it.... (nor it's 95% finish)
it's a LHD
GT30R with S compressor (much bigger then the others), Audi wastegate (they are big enough to lower the boost <0,6Bar)

Thats pretty similar to mine then.

GT3076R - type S cover/compressor. & .82 exh housing.

havent got the cool tubular manifold you have tho, just have a reyland adapter swan neck to use on a 2wd exh manifold and will be using a tial wastegate.

will pop pics up within a few days when i get chance, just unsure of clearances.

oh and MTZ1 - that looks awesome :top: :top: :top: :top:

rapidcossie 05-09-2006 04:00 PM

what turbo was that neil?

NEIL A 05-09-2006 10:53 PM

It was a garret gt35 got it CHEAP so chucked it on, car made 440 bhp at 26psi on stars rollers when i was getting the fueling checked. But the exhaust housing was too big and the car was laggy as hell, plus i blew my box :wall: so went back down to a t35 with more boost :D sure i still have the maniflod lying around somewhere.

Hybrid-Chris 06-09-2006 07:33 PM

Kelv i'm way off topic here.

I notice you have the inners of your quads out. Have you wired them so they are fully operational without the inners or do you just pop them back in for MOT time?

Pm if you prefer not to clutter up your post.

Kelv 06-09-2006 09:09 PM

No problems Chris.

didnt need to re-wire them, just remove them!

with just the outer lights you can still get all the beams so not an MOT issue.

Very nice Peter G.

but how close is the wastegate return pipe to the wiring loom in that bulkhead section?

obviously thats a LHD car so thats not there on mine.

Peter G 21-10-2006 03:54 PM
