Spark plugs again........
Ok after doing a search on this ive noticed people are reccommending different plugs as being the best.
Does it matter what power and boost you run as to what plugs to use???
Some say standard ones are the best and some suggest a few others.
Im confused with it all really and not sure what to get. Could the wrong plugs damage my engine in any way????
Cheers.

i would use champion QC57C race plugs. i have always used ford pp8 on mine at 330 bhp with no problems at all. then i built a new engine (450 bhp ) and it just blew the pp8`s up within 100miles ( litteraly ) 3 sets !!
the champs are cheaper too, Ł8.50 each, i have now done 1k on this new engine and has been as good as gold.
so it all depends on the engine spec.

Just took the plugs out, there motorcraft agpr12pp.
Not sure whether to stick with these or get the pp8 now.
It looks like the gaps more than 0.8 though.

Just spoke to Ford, Ł10.50 each for the pp8's, but they said the correct plugs for my car are pp11's, which replace the pp8's in mid 94' which i assume is the change over period to the small turbo.

Right i ordered the PP8's for Ł40 as these were recommended for my 300hp small turbo by two specialists. I then noticed a few posts on here where the majority seem to thing there no good. A few people even had problems with the tips breaking off causing major damage!!!!
Thats put me off them completly so i quickly cancelled them.
Im really not sure what to use now as 071's seem to be not suitable for the t25 either.
Theres the champions mentioned above, or denso but not sure what type to get.
Cant beleive a set a plugs are causing me so much hassle.

The ones that are in now are agpr12pp and ford list pp8 for the BT and pp12 i think it was for the ST. Not sure what the ones ive got in are designed for then.

why are the 071's no good for a small turbo? has anyone tried them, with having coilpacks as std on small turbos, you 'll get a good spark from them, or is it to do with them not having supresssion built into them?
the AGPR12PP8 i've hears are more than fine for small turbos as they dotn run more than about 300 bhp, the PP8's ive heard failing are in stage 3 BT cars running quite a bit more power..

The ones that are in now are motorcraft agpr12pp. What about denso's? Is there a denso with the 'R' rating that would be suitable for mine?

WEBER ECU MANAGED CARS:
For up to 300 BHP use AGPR 12 PP8
(Std gap or dropped to 0.7mm)
For above 300 BHP use AGPS071 or Denso Iridium IK31
(Gap dependant totally on power)
(Wasted spark engines can run different gaps, consult your tuner.)
FORD EEC ECU MANAGED CARS:
Std Escos use AGPR 12 PP
(Std gap)
Modified Escos up to 305bhp use AGPR 12 PP8
(Std gap)
Hope this helps to clarify some confusion here.

No mate, in fact i bought some PP8s only yesterday so i can expect these to be my last then?
PP11 will be ok, problem is, as they are assembled pregapped, teh electrodeas are square on at 1.1mm. We will have to compromise the nice sqare angle to drop them down, and can probably forget going as low as 0.7.
