Default Boost Problem after hibenation

Ive got a problem on my Escort Cosworth, its a big turbo model, bascially it feels like its over boosting, and spluttering at hight boost, so far ive changed the actuator, 3 bar, all the hoses to the 3 bar and to the solonoid (amal valve thingy), plugs, leads, dizzy and arm, and the ECT sensor in the inlet. But it still splutters at high boost. Ive got some boost pipes on order from Goode's but I dont think that they will alter it.

One thing I have noticed which is strange, is that no matter how much I slaken off the actuator, i.e. adjust it right down the boost dosnt drop?

Has anyone experieced any problems like this before? Ive even tried swapping the chip but it still does it...

I might have to bite the bullet and let Goode's look at it soon, but you can bet your life it will be something really simple and they'l charge me the earth!

when you removed the actuator could the waste gate move by hand, may be jammed shut

Not sure about the plug gap, Im running new Motorcraft PP8's, what should it be? The plugs have only just been put-in thou the fault was still happening on the old plugs anyway. Surely a pug gap wouldnt effect you from changing the boost on the actuator?

Anyone know how the boost solonoid (amal Valve) works on a Escort Cosworth? should it click when you plug it in? how do I go about testing it?

I removed mine while the rebuild was ongoing to clean the inner wing and i also have a missfire on boost could this be why?

I closed up the gaps in the plugs tonight but still get the missfire @ around 10psi.

New plugs get ordered tomorrow.

NO unless you didnt solder correctly, removal of these is essential now as the contacts in the plugs corrode badly and cause all sorts of running issues..

BTW if you cant turn the boost down at all by lengthening actuator rod, you have a problem, take it to a specialist. What boost are you spiking/holding?? (I presume you have a boost guage to asses what difference you are making by adjusting these things??)

how does the phase cause overboost and not allow you to turn boost down?
