Default water union for dcoe manifold HEEEEEELP!!

Hi, Im struggling to find a heater hose union for my dcoe manifold on my mk1 escort rs2000. I bought one from burtons but its too small. The guy who sold me my carbs/manifold told me it should be a standard sized pinto union but I have been told by west wales rally spares that the one I need is actually a sohc sierra one.

Iv tried measuring the the hole on my manifold but its already on the car so all I could do was put a bit of masking tape over the hole and rub it with my finger to make an impression of the hole then measure the impression on the tape. I measured it as 3/4 of an inch but the guy who sold me the carbs/manifold said he thought it was 5/8.

So can any1 tell me which size I need (or which size a sierra sohc one is) AND where I can get one from

I have tried mk1/2 escort specialists, as well as sierra breakers (they wouldnt help because they were afraid that if they tried to take it off the manifold it would snap and render the manifold unusuable. I have looked on gas fitting websites too but no luck. I havnt tried ford yet.

ANY HELP REALLY APPRECIATED. Thanx. Justin
