Default Mk1 escort new cosworth engine update dec 09

Hey there,
Have just embarked on a cosworth install on my Mk1 escort and found Passionford, though Id say hello and share a few pictures of the car

It is a race only car utilising not many original ford parts bar shell, front struts and steering column.
I Am originally Australian but currently reside in London and am building a 200 block and 4wd headed Yb with t34 or t35 turbo. I am collecting parts and looking for a machinist in and around the london area who can do the basic machinging for a freshen up plus long studding the block.
I look forward to chatting away.
cheers,
Justin P

Car looks like it is in Aus? Are you in London buying bits to take back to fit to the car? Sounds like a plan!

Fantastic Escort.

Yeah its in Australia, awaiting my return with the cossie motor. Thought while I was posted here I might as well take advantage of locals knowledge of the 'twin cam turbo pinto'. Looking for smaller parts, sensors, manifolds and a machinist in and around london.
Thanks for the comments,

Justin P

Thanks for the comments guys. Its been a while but here is the engine. fresh rebuild
200 block 0.25 oversize, Mountune long studs, tri metal bearings, balanced everything, new cosworth head, mountune older wrc spec mountune cams, double valve springs, modified spring platforms, light porting ets etc etc.

Photo of pistons. this time with pockets, clearance goo and a gasket

Another picture inside the bottom end. this time with an uprated oilpump and strainer/pickup

Front end all timed up and complete

Looks good in black, It took ages to convince Piper to let me have different coloured pulleys. I like it

Yep, Looks good in black

Really good in black!

Just a pure race circuit car mate. Too far gone to ever be suitable onthe raod. Couldnt afford the tyres, only last 500KM's as it is.

Cheers for the comments.
