Default Ipod help :wall:

Anyone got one?

I have just bought a 60Gb photo one, and cant find anywhere in the instructions how long the first charge cycle should be.. Anyone know? I have no way of telling how far charged it is, as all I can see on the screen is the apple screen saver and it wont turn on

I'd be gratefull if anyone could help.

Mark

Doesnt it say in the instruction manual how to turn it on?

I think from what I remember any key turns on it?

Are you charging off the wall or from a USB port?

Read that bit, and none of them seem to work... Hold is set to the on position too.

Trying to find out if on the initial charge, if it has to be charged up fully before you can switch it on?

if you've just got the apple logo it means the battery is dead...

I left my mini on charge overnight. I think I needed to plug it into the wall for an update after its done before it will work

I've never turned mine on without plugging it in so I don't really know. set up yourself with iTunes (if you don't already have it) and plug up your iPod and see what happens.

yes it needs to be linked to your PC to be formatted and the software loaded on, plug it in the firewire port (it will still charge) and see what happens

What a cool place, the mile square city Never seen so many bars in my life

I'm going to have to phone Apple up... When I 1st got the iPod I plugged it into my PC and nothing happened. I went through the CD, however when I got to the formatting section the PC did'nt identify with the iPod. When it did'nt format, I assumed that it had all ready been done, as the window said "iPod MAY require formatting"

Tried again from my laptop at home and the samething happened, however now I can't even get the apple logo to appear on the screen

Thanks for your help all the same

i have a mini, charge it up & you should see a battery in the back ground which means its charging, i suggest you use the firewire charger first mate, it will charge far more better than a USB, but when i first had my mini about 8 months ago, i installed i tunes first & then it said connect the ipod to the computer using the USB lead so it can get some data of i tunes & then you should be done, charge it after, then put some tunes on to it, remember ipods dont play WMA. files so only MP3's
