Default P8 on coilpack managment? where from???

anyone know of a company who can sort out a P8/coilpack setup for a 2wd saff?

(after several phonecalls to Stu, he cannot supply the software so dont suggest it!)

i run my saff with P8/antilag ported head/cams/knife edge crank/ big turbo etc and am desparate for a coilpack sparked P8 pectel board or chip.

i couldnt give a flying fuk about the rev counter reading wrong.

any ideas guys?

i run a coilpack`d zetec mk3 escort and know all about the problems with the rev counters etc.........

Stu at MSD CAN supply an add on EXTRA board to do this that requires
NO software mods.

However, he will not have stock until next week and I think there is a small waiting list.

Best call him in the morning to discuss

both my 8inj cars have p8 management with pectel looms and coil packs...

is that a big kink in the downpipe on the cossie pic? looks like it has been bent

i gave up ringing as i was told he would not supply me with the software/ECU chip/whatever i needed about 3 month ago,

are you sure its P8 compatibale?

i`ll ring stu first thing tomorow if thats the case!!!!!!!!


only want to loose the dizzy due to new inlet i`ve had made, cant fit it in cos of stupid old fookin distributor

P8 can run Dizzyless with a pectel board as std!


why bother with these shonky unavailable aftermarket boards!?


get a pectel board and P8 will run dizzyless, als, wi, closed loop the lot!

Cossie Sean,

You can run the add on board along side existing software/pectel boards without software mods.

Or as Davescoont said, you can get your existing pectel board software updated
but the people/tuners who can do this are limited.

why run extra gizmo's and things that arent needed with P8.. when it can do EVERYTHING you want 'in house'

your right thats a bad kink in the downpipe, i had 20 mins to make an exhaust before the MOT!

heres the finished result, all mated to a standard cossie backbox.......

you may remember the car from performance ford december 2003 or 2004...........

find out how much a tuner wants to enable coilpack board in your
EXISTING pectel chip and modify the rev counter
then come back and ask that question again

now now people, i only asked a SIMPLE question and was told by STU HIMSELF that i could NOT purchase coilpack/P8 setup, i asked if i should keep in touch and was told not to bother, so i`m not!

i only wanna do away with the friggin dizzy!

if it comes down to it i`ll have to get a dizzy machined from ally to make it shorter, simple!

my ECU can run water inj, air-air, ALS and closed loop but not coilpack, thats all i want

pectel dont make music, games or clothes..

what isnt there to like? their logo!?

either you've had bad service from them, bad goods etc...if you havent then there must be a reason?

mystifies me as its a bit like saying.. naaah, i wont shop at woodhouse for my clothes.. i'll go to george at asda instead!

i opted to run p8 with a issue 3 board, and a pectel loom.. does EVERYTHING spot on with no hassles. Its a known quantity!

first off, i know a LOT of folk in the rally scene and i know of a fair few cossie folk reverting from pectel to origional marelli managment due to problems.

i thaught it was the same dave escos.........
same arrogant cheeky prick who used to use this and other sites.

a bit off topic here girls (joke! before i get shot down!)but does a zetec run on the old k-jectronic like in the first pic? id love to put a zetec in me S1 Xr3i to take away any 'old' engine probs (not saying they are shit but ive had two die already) id just like to take a different road than the cv/zvh route or turboing due to insurance costs. what version of a zetec is the one pictured? many thanx

Ahmed can do the required mod to your P8 for you. You then need a coilpack, second ignition amplifier, suitable loom adapter and some different ignition leads.
