Not sure on prices, but if i was to have one built, I'd only go to HPE

There cars are awesome, Try posting on www.turbosport.co.uk as they'll be a little more help ( more old skool RS's etc etc )

TBH any decent engine builder can probably cope with that, its not really rocket science.

Speak to Karl would be my first port of call, he comes highly recomended as an engine builder and will spec you a head and cam etc too no doubt.

Personally though, i would just use a 20XE instead, 180bhp instantly and adaptors are available to fit a Type 9 etc.

Chadley's pinto makes good power with a standard head on it LOL....

Built by karl...

Scott - 175 is a lot of power for a pinto mate, bottom end is fairly easy....find a 2wd cossie bottom end then needs a good bore - change the pistons and you have a 2.1-2.2 bottom end.

Some jenvy throttle boddies - or i can ask my mate martin to see if he has finished his (own's an engineering firm making these). Then you need a BIG valve head and a race cam...

And a gearbox - think about a t5 or a straight cut option cause the 4 and 5 speed ford box's fitted to mk1/2's are total shit but about 30 quid from the scrappers LOL so horses for courses.

I can give you as much advice as you will need if you tell me what you want...had mk2s for 15 years now in all states

175 aint that much mate, more the merrier

Really want to use what I've got tbh, dont wanna go buying cossie bottom ends etc as the budget will get blown out the window as my car did

If ya get time mate, could you put down basically what I'd need to do/ get for 175 ponies

Standard 20XE engine + throttle bodies + decent exhaust = 200bhp

You can do that all in for under 3 grand.
