S2 Bonnet

Default S2 Bonnet

the bonnet on my s2 seems really lose. when driving down the road i can see it lifting up and it scares the shit out of me!!
been told its a common problem so wondering what is the common fix for it??

never heard of it being a common problem dude!!!! its never happened on any of my s2's! try adjusting the spring on the bonnet so it goes into the catch a bit more.

You can also replace the cable and catch to be sure

You need to adjust the treaded part on the bonnet that the spring surrounds,this is the part that sits into the catch on the slam panal,it has a mushroom shaped head .You will see it has a big lock nut at the top,loosen this nut,at the mushroom shaped end theres a slot to put a screw driver in,turn the whole lot 2 complete turns clockwise,shut bonnet and see is the bonnet still loose.If it is turn it another 2 complete turns and so on until the bonnet no longer moves.Then tighten up the lock nut and job finished.Regards Micky

As above.

Had a bonnet round the windscreen on my S2 though and it ain't fookin funny. Hence the bonnet pins on her now Not keen on the looks but at least I can thrash it without worrying about it happening again

well itook my mates s2 up the road to compare the power to mine gave it abootfull in 2nd then the bonnet flipped up and buckled over the bonnet .then he tells that he broke the catch

just bought new buffty catch and catch plate so sort it out when i put them on. so scary seeing the bonnet lifting!!!
