Default what oil for service?

ok i know this is a common question but i did a search and couldn't an answer....

my car is going in for its first service on thursday since i bought it.

the engine was fully rebuilt last september with all new parts (practically brand new engine and has done about 5,000 miles since)

the guy i bought the car off said its running on fully synthetic oil at the moment (not sure which; possibly castrol?)

im not sure what oil to put in it. its a standard engine bar exhaust k+n filter and kent cam (not been chipped) so standard boost as well.

any help would be much appreciated.

M1 15w-50 is fine but 10w-50 would have given better cold start protection, afterall, winter is coming..............Yipee!

I guess it's a semi-synthetic.

Is the car modded?

I would have said that a 5w-40 or 10w-40 fully synthetic would have been better particularly if you drive the car hard.

Cheers
