Default Are Escos's NOT selling atm??????

Mods, this ain't an advert:

I'm just interested to find out if anyone has any experience's with selling Escort Cossies at the moment?

Everyone say's they are in demand and good examples will be snapped up, but I've not had much interest and can't understand why. My car is in excellent condition and reasonably priced in a nice colour (pacifica blue).

I know there are plenty of dog's out there and you gotta be patient for the right person to come along, but its now got to a point where I might just keep it

Thanks

Cos its the summer and everyones away.

Or

People look at other cars and prefer them for the money. I personally think that the longer you go with Escos's the less people will want to buy them. 5 years ago I would of had one. But if you gave me the money tomorow, I probably wouldnt.

yeah think theres too mugh about tbh for peoples money, the kap cars are now cheeper and for 16k that peeps are asking theres other things about

think public spending has slowed down all over and that means that the cars are gonna go back down in price again

i remember when cossies where selling for 2 to 4k 6 years ago, then they went up again and now they dropped based on value

cossie parts from fords are harder to get and the jap cars are getting cheeper and are generally nicer to drive

when ya say ya not asking for alot explain what ya asking

i sold my escos a month ago put an ad on the autotrader web site on a monday, had lots of calls, some people just wanting to chat about the cossie others seemed interested, the first person to come and have a look (he flew down from Glasgow) bought it 4 days after the advert, i needed a quick sale so let it go for 14k with 39000miles on the clock. ive since bought an escort van and have just started to get the bug to do a few mods, hope the cossie sells soon m8

£14k is about top money for a private sale on an EsCos at the moment as when most folk are spending that sort of money they prefer the security of buying from a dealer plus the availability of finance. £16k to £18k for the best of the best from a dealer.
Anyone asking more than that in an advert must think their phone isn't working.

My view is that they will come down in price. The reason i think this is because they just aint selling thats obviouse by the number of posts about it and the fact the same ones are on the trader week in week out. The owners will have to drop the price in order to shift the car imo. The only reason there going for the money they are is because that the ASKING price not what there worth, you could have an nsx 3.0 v6 vtec for £15k. Not everyones cup of tea but a far superior car in many ways imo. O and when they hit between 8-10k i will consider buying an escos

Thanks for the responses everyone...........slightly depressing that 14k is a high price for a mint Escos though

I'm sticking to my price though and won't ever let it go for less than that. Would rather keep it, cos I know I won't find a much better car out there for the money.

Looks like I won't be looking for an RS500 then , thats the only other motor on my wish list

Cheers

14k is cheap mate. What ya gotta think is it is a very narrow market for the escos, specially when ya have one like mine at 17k . 66 million people in britain and possibly only 10 people looking for the 'right' escos

Its the age and the hassle factor I would love one but there old and you cant leave em anywhere

Plus if its modded it can put people off ie engines getting on without being rebuilt and if ur selling a standard one usually the later cars people want leather and sometimes air con

Just been looking on the autotrader site there 41 escort cosworths for sale from 8k to 20K.

never seen so many for sale before

There not the demand for the escort cos like there used to be IMO and prices have never really droped.

looks like they will have to if you want them sold
