My S1 has recently developed a knocking noise. It happens when your braking just as you come to a stop and sometimes as you pull away.... so it must be suspension related.....

I have checked all the bushes, nuts and bolts on the suspension and anti roll bar. I have checked for play in the wheel bearing and I have had a look at the CV joints and cant find anything wrong..... any ideas?

Have you checked the bolts on the brake caliper ??

 

I haven't actually mate.... I will check them next!

 

also check the arb bracket
