from what i have heard, with standard suspension 215's are better cos 225's catch the strut.

thanks matey

yeh im thinkin that i will have to go for 215/40's

thing is getting a set of rims for a good price so you can buy the tyres to replace the ones that are already on the rims without spending Ł700 which gives you a scabby set of rims with new tyres and a spare set of tyres

Ł196 delivered

hardly that expensive compared to what you'd pay at your local ATS etc.

Thats the right tyre size to use other wise you will buckle the arches.

Be careful though I have had them on a 4x4 and 2wd. Took me a while to work out what was kocking when cornering hard, it was the big four pots on the 2wd rubbing agianst the inside of the wheels 3mm spacers do the job nicely on the front, never had any probs on the back.

Best wheels for a saph any bigger and the ride gets compromised.
Get em and keep em clean

[quote="FingerZ!"]I have the opportunity of buying some escort cossie rims for my sapphire cossie - the tyres on the rims are 225/45/16

had that size on my saff and ONLY had to have the front arches rolled due to them clipping very slightly.

ps I wouldn't use spacers on them rims as they stick out far enough and all the stress on the wheel studs albit they ARE very close to the caliper(2w/d)

pps the ONLY way that they could hit the calipers would be due to either wheels are buckled or the wheel bearings are knackered.

Thanks chaps

Getting tyres aint a problem I'm in the trade can get them for about Ł40 a piece only thing is you gotta buy escort cosworth rims with the wrong tyres on to begin with the cheapest i found so far are Ł400 not in the best condition either, then I've got to re-con them bin the old tyres and buy new onesall for a second hand set of wheels LOL !

Suppose I better bite the bullet and spend the money !
