Default Old twin cam/cosworth mongrel

I've been told that a cosworth head will fit on my twin-cam block so I turn to the forum to settle this argument.
When I took a look at a cos motor, the first thing I noticed was that the injection and exhaust manifolds are the other way round to mine and the main difference is mine has chain-driven-cams instead of a belt. So as an engineer and i've built a few engines (bikes & cars) I would like to know how on earth this transplant is supposed to work???
The plan is to either do this surgery to the motor or a complete swap of engine and running gear from a c-reg 2.8i 4X4 sierra i've got lined up.
Has anybody got any answers or comments please?
