i got my combi 3 months ago, in that time ive had to spend buckets of money and its now not even starting, ive had it mapped 2 times i have had apf09 throttle position switch for a cosworth &Phase disk Crank sensor & Phase sensor bracket also a Pectel Board & Plug for the board in ECU and a Chip & Dizzy cap . ive paid for it to be towed 3 times and now it wont even start i still need to finish off running in and find out why my turbo is surging on boost , then fix an oil leak , door cards needs replacing and a new gearbox after that , am i going to give up ??


hell no , i love turbos , giving up is for the weak minded , im just a wee bit pissed off tonight , anyone else got any bad luck stories ?

 

everytime my S1 moves it needs a new part, fingers crossed

 

lol , well turbos are a lot of fun when running, i cant just give it up , and get another one , combis are few and far between , when mines done it will be the bollox , and i have a massive system i am planning on installng, i used to have a v6 cavalier, that was quick on the long roads, i just want my turbo running right so i can justify all the damn expense .

 

i know how u feel mate, just as u think its sorted, something else goes wrong!,

will get rid of mine after the summer, proberly go for a non-turbo car, but do like the idea of a cav turbo

 

dont bother ive been in a couple , they dont handle the bendy bits at all, and to get parts for them is not easy , not impossible, stick with your rs you will miss it when its gone, ive made that mistake twice now, if anything get an astra gsi with a turbo conversion

bad luck, i got it just as bad as you mate, 3 turbos in 3 weeks, gearbox gone, injectors leaking,
engine is pinking, all getting sorted on wednesday tho
