Oil Pump Prime Question...Help Please!
My engine is ready to be collected, but i asked the guy if he has
primed the oil pump and he said it cant be done unless the engine
is full of oil
This isnt right is it?
If he is wrong how do i go about sorting it out?
Does the pump have to removed from the engine?
Any help would be much appriciated.
Cheers

I'm pretty sure you disconnect one of the coil leads ten flick the key so the engine turns over, but doesn't fire.
One of the others who've done it will know for definate, but remember it being something like that. Please check first for definate tho..wouldn't like to be the cause of anything bad.

Is the engine on a stand? If so tip it sideways and fill oil into where the oil filter screws on. Also fill the oil filter with oil then screw it into place. Finally fill the engine with oil and turn over by hand until oil passes through the feed to the turbo. It may take a while but it should eventually come through. also before firing up remove spark plugs and injector multiplug and turn over on the starter until the oil lamp goes out - then cross you fingers and fire it up.
