You could go to court and whine about needing the car for your job, then get 6 or 9 points and a big fine.

Or... you could go to court don't whine, you'll get a 4 or 6 week ban and a small fine, and NO points.

I prefer the short ban option. No points to worry about afterwards.

the second option will only work thou if they do not have any other records oh him speeding on a public highway.

RS500 if you have been caught before they WILL castrate you regardless of the outcome.

If not you might get away with 6 points a short ban and a reasonable fine.

102 or 128mph
eitheway a short ban would be better than points

yeh but a ban last for longer on your licence than points.

i personally would go for points. Already have a cd10 on my licence for 80 in a 30 and that lasts for 5 years.

at the time of conviction i had a sp30 with 6 points for ave speed of 104mph so i think it just depends whether the judge got sucked off in the morning

If its time /distance then 128 would have perhaps been your max speed.

The distance is then calibrated, working out your average speed covered over the distance ie 102.

M8 i know what your saying about the cd10
as mine came off 3 months ago
with a 6 pointer you only need 1 more speeding conviction say 95 on the motorway and you could get a 6 month totting up ban

The CD10 never affected my insurance by that much but i suppose all our circumstances are different

i got caught at 114 on the M1. got 56 day ban and Ł200 fine.

and i already had from the previous year a 28 day ban, again for speeding

long time ago now tho....

took 4 years to come off my licence - and they both made a difference to my insurance.

Yep my ban put 50% on my insurance renewal, but I do like not having any points.

clare depends on the offence too, no insurance or serious offences add 50%, speeding adds 30%

but then there are companys that specialise that mean ya could end up only paying a but more

my first years insurance with 9 points ( which is cheeper than 6 points i foudn out too ) was 2300up wards untill i tried insurance express in birmingham and they quoted me 1200 quid per year fully comp, that was no co claims and just past me test, was the same with no points by otehr companies due to lack of driving experience

the following year with 1 years no claims it went up to 1400 quid due inflation and they said id i never had 1 years ncb then is would be another 30% ontop

so i lost my points and payed 500 fully comp then now i got me cabrio and im paying 340 quid with 2 years noclaims

Ginge all Insurance Companies operate different policies, you cant generalise that points will make a set difference across the board.

For 3 years I have paid 50% extra insurance for my SP50 6 points, now im in my 4th year its made a hell of a difference reducing the premium.

The point I was trying to make I guess was that some people see points better than a ban and vice versa, personally I think either way you end up paying more insurance for at least the next 3 years

yeah i agree there, i would rather have a ban than 6 points personally, im sure you would too

the only reason i cant have that as a option as i would not be able to do my job as if i had a ban im not allowed onthe insurance AT ALL, not even at a increased excess like there paying for me now

but i am there fastest delivery driver , with 2 crashes holding uo all the drivers i managed to do my route 10 mins quicker with another 40 miles on the journey compared to my 4 hours too early yesturday

but i swear i wasnt doing stupid speeds as the van dont do moire than 95 down hill

oh a hill if ya brake you cant accelerate anymore and stay at the speed you dropped to

not interesting for you but ive been dying to tell someone and i cant tell my boss can i

Paul,
I have some very good 8 injector maps for the S8 now to get you going if you need it.
You will of course need to have it road tested.

!!!!
Paul,

After your public outburst to me on here you seem to expect me
to jump through hoops for you.

But despite what others may say (including you) I will gladly help when I am able to....

I do NOT trade on PassionFord anymore so if you require any maps, please email me directly
with an engine spec and I will send you what I can.

Simon
