Default need advice on my turbo

can anyone help i have a s2 rs turbo and after a short journey the turbo is glowing red,also it wont boost till 5 thousand revs 1st and 2nd gear boosts at 11psi 3rd and 4th shoots up to 18psi plus the engine is standard patr from the dump valve

hi

it sounds like your timings out, to make the turbo glow

as far as the wierd boosting like that not sure mate but dont drive it could be the amal valve but not should mate

As above definatly get the timing checked out and maybe get a setup off a tuner to make sure everything is ticketie boo

If you want to keep your RS in 1 piece, I'd check timing and boost.
Std pressure is 8 PSI and fuelling will match that, the engine might survive 11 PSI, but 18 PSI is far too much for std fuelling.

My guess is you're on your way to a melted piston!!!

18 psi is also too much for a standard turbo, unless u want to replace it everyweek
