Default FAO 2.1 Zvh owners

What starter motors are you using

Just been in discussion with a guy who makes them as mines really lazy starting sometimes and he thinks as i'm still using a 1.6 starter that could be why???

im usin a standard rs turbo one! its brand new and works fine! most people that i know use 1.8 td mondeo ones! they turn em over a bit faster due to different gearin!

using the standard 1 on mine2, had no problems with it.

i'm on standard one, works a treat, not sure if you've got one or not but i've got a cover that fits over mine made of some sort of heat proof fiber.

worth lookin into, stops them being attacked buy the heat and making them lazzy.

you can get a starter motor heat sheild from fords,i got one a few months ago, it clips onto the oil return pipe from the turbo

ive seen a few ppl locally have problems like this as already said fit a heat shield from ford also worth noting that the std starter should be fine as the 2.1 if turboed is running a low compression so hence should put the same if not less strain on the 1.6 cvh starter than a std cvh turbo engine.

or if you are still having problems fit a diesel starter as that have a bit more guts for you
