Default Whats the max BHP output from a small turbo Escort Cos?

Seen one on Autotrader for sale which has been 'chipped' to run 330bhp with a dyno sheet to prove!?

I thought as a general rule of thumb they were difficult to tune to more than 300bhp really?

You would be WAYYYYY off the compressor map at about 32 lbs/min like that!

If it does make that power, it wont for long

With std ECU and if it's running stock injectors, I doubt it would be much over 300bhp

It doesnt say what injectors it has, and it says the ECU has a chip in it, so no reason for it not to be a 330chip with a set of greens.

all seems fair enough to me having read the advert

IF it's EEC-IV it's not so simple to upgrade injectors. If it was my car would be 330bhp already.

LHD ones are always cheaper (the ones above, not this one)

The white one at J28 looks a bargain though.

But it's quick enough engine-wise. I don't think there are that many people around who can fully use ~300bhp.

You gotta be kidding, 300bhp in an escos feels pretty tame really in most situations.

Unless you roads over there are a lot worse condition than here?

I am not kidding. I really do think that there aren't many people who can really use that quick cars. And I don't mean motorway/streight line use.

There was some post by "Hooligan" I think about condition of out roads. I don't know such words in English to describe it.

Can you? Well this is a job for a sailor or somebody like that. Roads in POland would be called forest paths, or walkways in other places.

The date is not production date but registation date??? I don't know about british customs but in most countries you put production date into adverts.

Theoretically with upgraded turbo, injectors and maf sensor one could map EEC IV to run 330bhp. But untill now I didn't see a company which would offer such kit.

Look at the pics of the engine bay Lee It certainly started out as a ST model judging by the cam cover, MAF etc... Shame it's got no heatshield though, wouldn't fancy test driving it, lol

Lee, another possibility - the RR lied

It still has EDIS module.

I don't have heatshield too.

You're worried about brakes or what?

Jakub, yes - brake reservoir is next to turbo on RHD cars

Thought it still had EDIS on it, but wasn't 100% - wouldn't be running that if on L8/P8 unless 'the best' haven't removed redundant wiring.

Over optimistic RR probably......

I went to poland at the beginning of the year, and the roads are absolutely terrible. Pot holes everywhere, and before you know it, its pretty easy to end up ditched. he lives near Zakopane at the bottom of the mountains.

I always knew RHD was bad idea I dont have place for the heat shield because breather separator is there - do I need one?

There isn't any coil visible I think. So it's still runing coil-on plug. If it is a convertion it must be somethingmore advanced like stand-alone, or S8ECU, or some new marelli mod that alows it to run coil-on plug (Stu said something taht their coilpack drivers will allow that soon)

Over optimistic RR probably......
Lot's of those around.

Jakub, as far as I know, main reason on our cars is brake fluid reservoir, clutch and throttle cables are that side - yours is possibly ok without one, but at least one benefit would be to protect paint on bonnet which can react to the high temperatures.

I still have that sound proofing material on the boonet and it isn't burned or anything.

There still is ABS modulator on the turbo side but it's quite far from turbo and not working in fact Nobody in POland can repair my ABS and I am not very wanting to do that as I would have it swtched of either way.
