All Hail Rod Tarry [MadRod]
Had to post a thank you for a "proper" ride in Mad Rods absolute beast of a car at tonights Middlesex RSOC meet [nice one to Lance and Bob1972 as well, for getting the meet back up and running, was a good turn out
]
The car is awesome. It sticks to the road like glue, the brakes are amazing and fook me does it fly
Special thanks to the owner of the private test track too, where we reached 183 mph on the GPS
I've never done a poo at that speed before.
It's surprisingly easy.
The biggest thanks though go to Frog who was sat in the front, for helping distract Rod into a more leisurely pace on the journey back
P.S Rod, I'll buy you a new grab handle for the back as I think I still have some of the plastic embedded in my hand where I was holding on so tight

Ive done 197mph in the Fensport Corolla, that was lovely
The launch/acceleration of that thing was the main bit tho, 60 in 3secs feels coooooooool

Best bit was Rod saying "did you see that white LED come on ?"
Paddy and I saying "er, no, we were watching the road"
<= That is not to say Rod wasn't watching the road, far from it
Thanks for the ride, truly exhilirating and an eye opener

mind you, I'm pretty sure one of the gauges was the meter for the fare
Paddy didn't feel very lucky when he stepped out of the car
he ran to his own car, opened the door and leaned in, I thought he was being sick, but just went in to reach for his cigarettes

Paddy might have had something do to with it. I reckon he should be a passenger in rod's next top speed run, with a pipe running from where you know, might give rod a few more bhp, or thrust...
Just need to find a good curry house before hand and all sorted.

Glad you enjoyed the trip lads, bit crowded to try for 200. got a bit worried about Paddy he looked a bit shaken up. It must have been a bit of a shock if youve not been drivin by a 60year old maniac before. Frogs face through the twisties was the best bit he though he was about to die at least three times. Think the handling shocked them, as it does most people, 650 layed down in 2nd is a bit of a shock in a 2wd Saff.

Before we all start thinking Paddy's a big fairy, I'd like to point out I was sat in the back on leather seats, not able to clunk-click the seat belt cos the clunk bit was hidden under the seat

I have every confidence in Rod's driving abilities.... but when offered to try and break the sound barrier on the M3 I just had to refuse!!
Now.... how about heathrow / gatwick / Luton... test track?
I'd be up for it then!!
