Default help ,i need to do a rebuild on the rs turbo

i need to do the bottom end,i am gonna take the engine and box out and strip it on sat, so how much work is it to put a 2l bottom end on it?????????

i was told it's easy but u need to mess about with the water pump,is this right????

also whats the best to go for is it the mondy or a saff bottomend??????

and when i get the bottom end will i have to change the pistons and stuff inside so it lowers the compression or not??????????

also will the engine mounts be the same, mind thats not too bad i can get them made up,

if there is any who has done it can u pm me what i will need, cheers,

Try doing a google search for ZVH mate, i'm sure there are a couple of pretty good web sites out there that go through the ZVH conversion step-by-step

the quantums one is fior a 1.8, theres a tiny bit more ya gotta do for 2.0, you cant machine 2.0 pistons but the 1.8 ones ya can,, also need to ally weld the head a tiny bit too, the breather as to be blocked, the water pump changed as it runs the wrong way, the block needs tapping for the oil return and i think thats it

either way ya gotta rip ut the pistons unless ya use a decomp plate

its not that much work and can be done quite easy

also on a 2.0 ya need the 1.8 escort sump and oil pickup pipe aswell
