Default Max power from standard FRST intercooler.

We're looking at a FRST for the missus at the weekend and it has a nice engine spec with quite a few goodies. Only thing is it still has (we think) the standard cooler. What's the maximum realistic bhp we can expect from it. Not going mad on this as we have the Escort for being silly with

182bhp with standard intercooler running 15psi!

I changed to a chargecooler and then melted a piston!

Running a Pro Alloy front mount intercooler now

Cheers,

Andy

I have an ACT gauge fitted and im running 12psi on my std T2 through the std intercooler. The temp rockets up very quickly and is hitting 45'c or more on a sunny day. So the std intercooler is rubbish.

Some people claim varying power figures using the std cooler, yes different engines make different power depending on what else has been done, but i would question the figures quoted.
