Hi guys, I have just bought a 1986 escort ghia 1.4, only 104,000km from new with two previous owners, it has come with a brand new mot but on driving there is a pronounced knocking/thumping from the right front end, if I bounce the car on this corner I can feel slight movement on top of the suspension leg, would this be the cause of the noise and are they adjustable at all? I'm in france btw and it's a French lhd if it makes any difference, thanks in advance, kenn

 

Probably top mount bearing or bush knackered.. unless its something obvious like a snapped spring.
They arent adjustable, but thankfully the whole suspension leg assembly can be stripped down in about 20mins
