I had a problem with the body control module on a 2009 1.8tdci focus titanium.So I was told to get one from a breakers yard and as long as the part numbers matched up it could then be programmed into my car.So I done that got an exact matching part only to be told by ford that because the part has supposedly been reprogrammed before it cannot be done again and they now want big money for a new one and programming it.Are they just talking $h!t saying it cannot be programmed again just to scam me for a new part.I wouldnt think it would make a difference it the part had been programmed a thousand times before as it's learning values of my car .

It wouldn't surprise me at all that you would need new body control module the way card are these days. If I remember rightly every system on the car ie air bags abs runs through the bcm.
