Default Cosworth 24v

Had some enquires about the cosorth v6 found in the scorpio, namely which is better? I know most go for the early one (BOA) because it is electronically simpler, but i would do without the old injection and put ITB's on and a new ecu, so was wondwring if the later (BOB) would be better? Ive heard it is stronger and I was hoping to try get 300 hp out of it with many mods so the stronger the block and other components the better. Anyone know anything about this?
Another issue I have is living in New Zealand they were never sold here. Is their any reliably trustworthy people/businesses that do things like sourcing and shipping engines?
Not sure if this is the right place for this sorry if it isnt and any help would be much appreciated.

It is going in a Mk1 Capri. Yeah the barra is a consideration of mine, but they barra is big. Like really long. The block itself would have a few mm to spare in a capri i believe if my measurements are correct and i don't want to start cutting yet.

Have you thought about somthing a little more modern like the Duratec 30 / Aj 30.

It comes rwd in the Jag S type and you can get adapter plates for the Mazda Rx8 / mx5 gearbox.

Too be totally honest the cost of shipping parts from UK to NZ would cost a small fortune.

There must be a alternative which produces more power for a lot less cash.

I was in the same position 4 years ago when I looked to increase the power of my 2.8 V6 Sierra.
The cost of the Cosworth V6 really is expensive to obtain in NZ. There was one advertised on TradeMe, (I think last year) it came with Jerveys IIRC went for over $5000nz.
Plus to get to 300hp would have needed quite a bit doing to it.
I think bang for buck and ez of installation a 4.0L OHV would be worth a look. I don't think it would take too much to get 300hp out of one of these. Parts seem quite a bit cheaper
coming from the US. Or though, with our NZ$ crashing against the US and the UK Pound at the moment, nothing is going to be cheap.
If money isn't too much of a problem then a 3.7L Cyclone V6 engine would be the dogs nutz.

Another option with the BOA is you can use the Inlet from a Vauxhall Omega and then twin turbo the engine as thats what Top Boss do. Inlet needs some minor work to make it fit so a good option and they do very good numbers

I’ve heard that story before but never seen any details or one that was actually done. Do you have more info on it?
