Hi all could anyone tell me why i keep getting a pool of oil in the intake manifold, its not come through the intercooler as that is bone dry, its only recently been rebuilt, new valves / stem seals, bored out and new pistons and rings fitted. anyone any ideas thanks

Are you sure it's not excess fuel left sitting in the elbow of the inlet? Can look like a brown/golden oil?

 

Its 100% oil, i have now removed the head looking for any signs of leakage, the pistons had oily deposits on them as well, i have done a leak test in the bores, the fluid stayed and didnt drain away. im a bit of a loss now as the head has only done 600 miles from full rebuild, the turbo is brand new, someone said it could be blowby, i have a three port breather system, however the oil retun on the starte motor side from the original breather has been removed to fit the modded breather, could it be that as the oil will drain down the pipe above the oil level in the sump, as this is under pressure could this cause blowby im unsure. The original return pipe sit below the oil level! just clutching at straws at the moment

 

Its coming down the valve guides,mine did the same after a rebuild.
